Financial services in Native indian would be hit from Thursday, with staff of both community and personal industry financial institutions planning a two-day strike against the suggested banking industry changes and for immediate modification in income.
Over a million financial institution workers and authorities working in 27 community industry financial institutions, such as the Condition Bank of Native indian, and 12 personal and eight foreign financial institutions, will go on a two-day national strike Feb 10-11, the United Community of Bank Labor unions (UFBU) Weekend said.
UFBU is the outdoor umbrella company of five worker unions and four official unions of state-run financial institutions. All nine unions under its aegis have given the strike call.
UFBU had previously known as a strike on Jan 20-21, which was postponed after the Native indian Banks Organization (IBA) improved its initial provide to 9.5 %, from 5 %, with a guarantee to improve it further.
However, at the conversations on Jan 27, the IBA improved its provide by just 0.5 % to 10 %, which was refused by the UFBU. It has been looking for an increase of 30 % on the reasons that salary modification is awaiting since Nov 2012.
UFBA said it had called the strike as the discussions on wage revision have been very tardy since the last one year.
